Friendly Reminder: Principal Survey Feedback April 1, 2024

McNair Upper Elementary School parents and guardians were sent an email on Monday, March 18th that contained a link to complete the online FCPS Principal Evaluation Parent/Guardian Feedback Form. This questionnaire is part of the VDOE-mandated Performance Evaluation Program for principals and offers parents and guardians an opportunity to provide anonymous input about various topics related to our school. These topics include how I  demonstrate/impact instructional leadership, school climate, management, communication and community relations, culturally responsive and equitable leadership, and professionalism within McNair Upper school community.

The administration window for this questionnaire is March 18th through April 5th. Please look for the email from FCPS Surveys and take a few minutes to complete the questionnaire. Your feedback matters!

Thank you in advance for taking the time to provide me thoughtful feedback on how I can best serve all contributing members of our school community.

🧸 Kindergarten Registration: It’s as Easy as 1-2-3…

🖍️ It’s Kindergarten Registration Time!

Attending kindergarten provides children with an opportunity to learn and practice the essential social, emotional, problem-solving, and self-regulation skills they will use throughout their lives. Our school typically conducts kindergarten registration events, including kindergarten orientation on May 3rd at 9:30am. Eligible children can also be registered throughout the summer, but registering your child early helps us plan, so that we have the teachers and resources needed on the first day of school.

Prepare for registration by gathering documents and completing forms. We are happy to support families with registration and the transition to kindergarten. For more information in other languages, visit FCPS’ Kindergarten Registration webpage.

Beautification Day at McNair ES on Saturday, April 27

McNair Elementary School invites you and your child to work with us to celebrate Earth Day by beautifying the outside of our school.  You and your child will have the opportunity to participate in activities to make our school beautiful and learn about caring for the earth.  Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 27th from 9-11am.  We hope to see you there!  All children must be accompanied by an adult.

**Please note, if you are willing to make any donations including but not limited to soil, plants, gardening tools, etc., please contact Connie Lehman at [email protected]. We appreciate your support!**

📖 Lexia Parent Night: How We Help Your Child Learn to Read

FCPS funds the use of Lexia for all elementary and middle schools as part of their literacy instruction. Lexia is a computer-based program that supplements classroom instruction to help students develop literacy skills. It also provides teachers with data to identify students who need additional support and the ability to know which specific concepts and skills to prioritize. Attend a virtual information night on Tuesday, April 9, to learn more about Lexia and how FCPS is integrating it into the classroom to support student growth. Participants will also get tips for supporting their students at home. Integrating Lexia into the literacy curriculum aligns with the Virginia Literacy Act, FCPS’ Equitable Access to Literacy, and FCPS’ 2023-30 Strategic Plan Goal 3, which aims to have all students reading on level by the end of third grade.

🤧 Updated COVID Recommendations

In accordance with the updated Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) respiratory virus guidance, FCPS and the Fairfax County Health Department (FCHD) have updated school COVID-19 recommendations.

The COVID-19 isolation period of five days is no longer recommended

New respiratory virus guidance applies to respiratory viral illnesses, including COVID-19, influenza, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). Students who have symptoms of, test positive for, or have been diagnosed with a respiratory virus may return to school when the student is fever-free for 24 hours without fever reducing medication; AND the student’s symptoms have improved or resolved.

Students should follow additional precautions as outlined per the CDC upon resumption of normal activities.

Should I Send My Child to School?

Please refer to the chart on this attendance webpage if your child is experiencing symptoms or illnesses, and you are unsure if they should go to school.

Thank you for helping keep our students and staff healthy.

Safe, Supported, and Included — the FCPS Family Summit 2024

The FCPS Family Summit will take place on Saturday, April 20, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Marshall High School. The conference will cover topics that are helpful for all families, such as social-emotional resources, along with a specially curated online component to provide supports for students with disabilities and their families.

Some of the topics include raising resilient, independent children; forming meaningful connections with children; addressing big emotions; and the dangers of opioids and fentanyl. The conference is being planned by several FCPS offices in collaboration with the Fairfax Alliance of Black School Educators, Black Women’s Educational Alliance - DC Chapter, Hispanic Educators Association, and Asian Educators Association.

This year’s theme is Safe, Supported, and Included, which aligns with Goal 2 of the FCPS Strategic Plan. More details will be available after spring break.

Tutor.com Teacher-Referred Tutoring

Through Schoology®, all FCPS students have 24/7 access to no-cost, year-round, on-demand, 1-to-1 tutoring services through Tutor.com.

A new Teacher-Referred Tutoring program feature provides targeted support and extends student learning. Teachers can now refer students for tutoring, with their specific needs already identified. Students can get extra support — on their own schedule — and reinforce their in-class learning.

Caregivers can guide students to access expert tutoring, homework help, and writing support by clicking on the Tutor.com icon in their Schoology portal—anytime, anywhere.

Plus, look for teachers’ tutoring session referrals on the Tutor.com homepage.

☀️ Safely View the Total Solar Eclipse on April 8

A total solar eclipse will occur on Monday, April 8, and will be viewable, depending on weather, in Fairfax County. The eclipse will begin in our area around 2:04 p.m. and end around 4:32 p.m., with the maximum eclipse occurring around 3:20 p.m.

Because the timing overlaps with dismissal, it is crucial that students understand the importance of safe viewing practices. We encourage families to review these Solar Eclipse Resources, especially the eye safety information. We hope everyone takes the opportunity to learn more about this extraordinary natural phenomenon while prioritizing safe solar viewing.

New Regulation on Meditation and Silent Reflection Spaces

FCPS has developed Regulation 1502 to ensure all students and staff have reasonable accommodation and access to meditation and silent reflection spaces within the school division. The regulation provides guidance for schools on how to manage requests for silent reflection during instructional and non-instructional time, and for students to leave school for religious activities.

These spaces are designated areas within McNair Elementary and on school premises for individuals to engage in prayer, meditation, or silent reflection, inclusive of their religious or non-religious beliefs. Parents/caregivers must provide written permission for students requesting to miss instructional time on a regular basis. Families are encouraged to contact Ms. Watson, school principal, Selene Vargas, the family liaison, or your child's homeroom teacher regarding accommodations. View Regulation 1502. Visit FCPS' Guidelines for Religious Activities webpage for more information.

🗓️Attendance Matters   🙋Attend Today, Achieve Tomorrow!

This year, spring break is March 25-29. We will be eager to welcome your children back to school on Wednesday, April 3, after two teacher work days. Student attendance is very important. Every day, our teachers will be teaching, and students will be learning. Studies have shown that just two absences per month can cause students to fall behind. Let’s finish this school year strong. Visit FCPS’ website for attendance resources.

Kiss and Ride Safety Procedures

As safety it is a priority, we want to ensure that families are continuing to follow our Kiss & Ride procedures and routines. Please ensure to enter the Kiss & Ride lane from Thomas Jefferson Drive.  Loop around the school and follow the directions of staff.  You will be directed to pull forward and a staff member will open the door for your child when it is time to be released from the car.  To maintain safe entering and exit from vehicles, your child must be seated on the passenger side of the car as they will exit from the right side only. Please ensure your child is prepared to buckle/unbuckle their seatbelt independently.  Parents must stay in their vehicles at all times. Please wait for staff directions before letting students exit the vehicle.  Kiss & Ride cars will exit right onto Thomas Jefferson Drive.

Please remember to not pass cars in the Kiss & Ride lane unless a staff member directs you to do so and to refrain from using your cell phone.  With over 1300 students arriving at both school campuses at the same time, all attention should be focused on the procedures for safety.

Preschool Based Programs

Preschool based programs participate in a hand-to-hand arrival and dismissal routine.  This means that preschool aged families wishing to provide transportation for their child need to utilize any street parking and cross-walks in order to walk to meet their child’s teacher at the front of the building.  This ensures the safety of all of our students and families during arrival and dismissal each day.

Students that are Tardy

🩹 Measles Is Preventable

Measles is making headlines as the number of cases nationwide has topped 40, with three confirmed cases in people living in or traveling through the National Capital Region.

The good news is that measles is preventable through vaccination! Vaccines help teach the immune system how to defend against germs, helping to build up natural defenses. Give your child the best protection against measles with two doses of the Measles-Mumps-Rubella (MMR) vaccine. Visit the Fairfax County Health Department website to find out more about measles.

Extended Hours at Immunization Clinics

To help parents/caregivers obtain vaccinations for their children, the Fairfax County Health Department (FCHD) will offer immunization clinics with extended hours:

Parents/caregivers should make an appointment but a limited number of walk-ins will be accepted. Please call 703-246-7100 to schedule an appointment.

Learn more about vaccinating your child and find community resources to support their health and well-being.

Note: All students enrolling in public and private schools in Virginia are required to be adequately immunized per the Code of Virginia.

☀️ Safely View the Total Solar Eclipse on April 8

Fairfax County’s Funding of the FCPS Budget

The average amount of funds transferred from Fairfax County to FCPS was 52.6% of county disbursements from fiscal years (FY) 2019-2023. It dipped to 51.6% in FY 2024. The County’s budget proposal for next year would transfer 51.4% of total disbursements.

If the county were to return to transferring 52.6% to FCPS for the upcoming year, that would equate to $63 million more to invest in excellence.

Spring Break is Almost Here!

FCPS will celebrate spring break the week of March 25th-29th. McNair Upper ES will be closed the entire week. We will reopen our main office on Monday, April 1st at 8:00 AM.

Please remember that both Monday, April 1st and Tuesday, April 2nd are student holidays. Students will report back to school on Wednesday, April 3rd for the start of the 4th quarter of school.

Friendly Reminder: Mustangs Make Their Marks! Problem Solving

Our Mustangs will have an opportunity to make their marks every day with the help of an important quality, problem solving. By using problem-solving, you may effectively determine the course of action for your work. Organization and the ability to prioritize are key when solving simple or complex problems. These abilities will also help you have better time-management. Refining your problem-solving skills will enable you to solve more difficult problems. In addition, helping others recognize and use their strengths and potential can also be effective with solving a problem in a group. Throughout this month, consider having a discussion with your Mustang about the importance of problem solving. If possible, take some time to research ways to improve the skills and abilities necessary for effective problem solving. This is a great way for Mustangs to earn Mustang Marks and show how remarkable they are!

Congratulations, Mrs. O'Bryant!

We are so excited to announce that our very own McNair Elementary School Assistant Principal, Mrs. Brandy O'Bryant, has been recognized as the Region 5 Westfield Pyramid Outstanding Leader!  Congratulations to Mrs. O'Bryant on this well-deserved achievement.  Her dedication, hard work, and exceptional leadership have made a lasting impact on all of us.  This recognition is a testament of her extraordinary abilities and commitment to excellence. We are incredibly proud of her accomplishments and look forward to witnessing her continued success as a visionary leader. Bravo, Mrs. O'Bryant!

Lightspeed Classroom Management

As part of our commitment to creating a safe and focused learning environment for our students, our school is using a classroom management tool that will help teachers better connect with student devices during classes. We are continuing to expand our use over the coming weeks. This tool will provide teachers with a number of helpful features:

  • Easily view student screens in real time from the teacher console to see which students may need guidance or support.
  • Focus student attention on a particular website on their device to minimize distractions.
  • Pause student access to the internet to focus on other classroom tasks.

We believe this classroom management tool will allow us to maximize class time to support your student’s learning while at school. Please note that student devices will not be monitored outside of school hours. The regular filters remain in place on school devices, but once they are home, teachers cannot monitor students. As parents, we would like to encourage you to sign up for your own Lightspeed reports, which will allow you to see how your child is spending time on the computer during and after school hours.

Bipartisan Study Finds Virginia Public School Divisions Receive Less Funding per Student Than Other States

The School Board recently adopted FCPS’ FY 2025 Advertised Budget. Meeting budget needs becomes more of a challenge with underfunding by the state, using staffing formulas that continue to result in school districts not receiving the actual support needed for excellent public education. A staffing formula is the method for calculating the number of positions that need to be assigned to meet program needs.

Did You Know?

In July 2023, the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission (JLARC) released a study of Virginia’s K-12 funding formulas. The report found that Virginia school divisions receive less funding per student than the 50-state average, the regional average, and many of Virginia’s neighboring states including West Virginia, Maryland, and Kentucky. Learn more about the JLARC study. View FCPS’ budget development timeline

Contact your state officials to provide feedback on funding for K-12 education.

Mustangs Make Their Marks!

🗓️Attendance Matters   🙋Attend Today, Achieve Tomorrow!

Good attendance is an important life skill that will help students succeed in school and beyond.

When scheduling trips or family events, try to use weekends and school holidays, and refer to the FCPS Calendar when planning. Every day of learning is a day toward success. Keep in mind that absences add up quickly. Students who are absent 10% of the school year (or just two days per month) are considered chronically absent.

When possible, schedule appointments for your child outside of school hours. If your child needs to miss school because of an illness or another reason, you must report the absence to the school. If you are unsure how to report an absence, please call the main office at 703-793-2800..

Watch this video with tips on understanding our school calendar and visit our Attendance webpage for additional information. Attend today, achieve tomorrow!

✅ Look for the FCPS Family Engagement Survey This Sunday

Parents/caregivers will receive the FCPS’ Family Engagement Survey Sunday, March 3, from independent research firm K12 Insight. Please participate — your feedback is critical in helping to inform and improve practices to best support our students.Taking this survey will also help strengthen the partnership between your family and our school. When that partnership is strong, students can experience a range of benefits including improved school readiness, higher student achievement, better social skills and behavior, and an increased likelihood of graduating high school. The survey will take about 10-15 minutes to complete and will be available in 10 languages. Please visit the Family Engagement Survey webpage for more information. Your voice matters!

Our school typically conducts kindergarten registration events, including orientation, in the spring during [March or April].

Do You Know Where FCPS Funding Comes From?

The majority of FCPS funding is requested from the Fairfax County government, which generates its revenue from real estate and personal property taxes. The Commonwealth of Virginia provides the next largest source of revenue to FCPS through state aid and sales tax. The rest of the funding comes from a variety of sources, including federal aid and tuition for non-county residents. (The numbers above represent the FY 2025 proposed school operating fund in millions.)

FCPS does not have the authority to impose taxes and may only charge fees where the Commonwealth of Virginia has granted specific authority. Learn more about FCPS’ FY 2025 Advertised Budget.

Friendly Reminder: Mustangs Make Their Marks! Hallway Expectations

Mustangs Make Their Marks! – Hallway Expectations

Our Mustangs make their marks every day when they follow our school-wide Hallway Expectations! McNair Upper’s Hallways expectations are important because they maximize learning time. Mustangs walk in silent, single-file lines and follow hallway traffic signs. These expectations minimize transition time to and from lunch, recess, and specials. They also help minimize distractions for our Mustangs who are learning in their classrooms or learning pod as others pass by. Throughout this month, consider having a discussion with your Mustang about the importance of following the Hallway Expectations. Please emphasize the importance of walking and silence while they are in the halls. This is a great way for Mustangs to earn Mustang Marks and show how remarkable they are!

Friendly Reminder: Family Engagement Survey to Open March 3rd

FCPS is partnering with independent research firm K12 Insight to administer a Family Engagement Survey, which will be open from Sunday, March 3, to Friday, March 22. • Student success
  • Advocacy

  • Community partnerships

The survey will be available in English, Amharic, Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Korean, Pashto, Spanish, Urdu, and Vietnamese.

Parents/caregivers will receive the survey link via email from K12 Insight. A public link will also be posted on FCPS’ website. Paper surveys will be available in our front office. Please stay tuned for more information.

🗓️Attendance Matters   🙋Attend Today, Achieve Tomorrow!

Parents/guardians have a huge influence on students when it comes to attendance.  Attending school regularly helps students feel better about school—and themselves. Start building this habit in preschool so they learn right away that going to school on time, every day is important. Good attendance will help students do well in high school, college, and at work.

School Year Routines

  • Maintain regular bed time and morning routines to help your child develop a habit of on-time attendance.

  • Talk to your child about why going to school everyday is important unless they are sick.

  • Don’t let your child stay home unless they are truly sick.

  • If your child seems reluctant to go to school, find out why and talk to teachers, school counselors, or other parents for advice on how to make him feel comfortable and excited about learning. Keep in mind complaints of a stomach ache or headache can be a sign of anxiety and not a reason to stay home.

  • When possible, avoid medical appointments and extended trips when school is in session.

  • Reach out to your child’s teacher or school counselor if you are experiencing tough times such as unstable housing, transportation or health problems.

🧸 Kindergarten Registration: It’s as Easy as 1-2-3…

  5. Schedule an appointment.

☑️ School Board Adopted Fiscal Year 2025 Advertised Budget

At last week’s regular business meeting, the School Board voted to adopt the Fiscal Year 2025 Advertised Budget. The Advertised Budget is a needs-based budget that represents the funding needed to support schools in the upcoming year. It focuses on educational excellence for each and every student and competitive compensation for our hard-working, dedicated, and results-driven staff.  The budget is closely aligned with FCPS’ 2023-30 Strategic Plan, which seeks a strong academic start for our youngest students and prepares our graduates for a thriving future. Nearly 86% of the budget is focused on instruction.

Mustangs Make Their Marks!

🗓️Attendance Matters   🙋Attend Today, Achieve Tomorrow!

When students miss too many days of school, they fall behind and struggle to keep up with their classmates. Whether the days missed are due to illness, truancy or for any other reason, the end result for the student is the same — learning time is lost. Children and adolescents will get sick at times and may need to stay at home, but we want to work with you to help minimize the number of days your student is absent from school.

  Missed Days Add Up Quickly!
  • Just a few missed days a month adds up to several school weeks missed in a year.
  • Both excused and unexcused absences can make it more difficult for your child to keep up with other students, especially in math and reading.
  • Kindergarten and first grade are critical for your child. Missing school during these early years makes it more difficult for children to learn in later years and they often have trouble reading by the end of third grade.

Fiscal Year 2025 Proposed Budget Focused on Educational Excellence and Competitive Compensation

At the last School Board meeting, Superintendent Dr. Michelle Reid proposed a budget for Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 that focuses on excellence and providing students an equitable education in an inclusive and respectful environment, where access, opportunity, and achievement are available to all.

The budget also prioritizes competitive compensation to attract and retain a world-class workforce.

The FY 2025 Proposed Budget totals $3.8 billion, an increase of $301.8 million, or 8.6%, over the FY 2024 Approved Budget. Nearly 86% of the budget is focused on instruction. Key highlights include:

  • Supporting students academically by maintaining existing class size formulas and providing necessary support to all students.
  • Retaining and attracting world-class educators with a 6% market scale adjustment.
  • Strengthening student well-being outside of the classroom with expanded athletics offerings, additional athletic trainers, and enhanced stipends for fine and performing arts.
  • Continuing initiatives including expansion of inclusive preschool, adoption of green initiatives, and funding assistant director of student activities positions previously funded with ESSER III.

Special education daily contract extensions, funding for the safety and security screening program, and late buses to support academics and activities at middle schools are several of the priorities to be addressed at the end of FY 2024.

The School Board is scheduled to adopt the Advertised Budget on Thursday, February 22. Read more about the proposed budget. Keep up with FCPS’ budget development process

The Mustang Weekly Newsletter

Greetings McNair Students and Families,

We had another fabulous week learning and growing together at McNair!  On Thursday, we celebrated our 100th Day of School together!  All of our Mustangs enjoyed participating in our 100 Days of Learning Challenges.  It was so much fun seeing how creative they were as they represented 100 in a variety of ways through various opportunities during the school day.  Be sure to ask your Mustang what their favorite way to represent 100 was. We are sure that they will smile as they share their memorable experiences with you!  Additionally, our second grade students participated on Friday in their own innovative marketplace!  Our students "sold" goods that they produced! They also invited staff and other students to be their consumers.  Kudos to our amazing teachers for making this incredible learning experience for our students possible. Connecting the learning to real world experiences is invaluable.

As families have been on campus this week whether it be during arrival, dismissal, or both, you may have noticed an increase in the presence of our Fairfax County Police Department as well as our FCPS Safety and Security officers.  The safety of our students, community, and staff is our top priority. We appreciate your partnership with ensuring that drivers are following the law on the roadway and within in our parking lots to ensure all pedestrians and fellow drivers are safe.  Your partnership is essential in this matter. If you have any questions, please be sure to reach out as we want to ensure we partner together with you and answer any questions or concerns that you may have.

Please see more information in our newsletter about Kindness Week at McNair, Lexia Parent Night for supporting your child's reading abilities, as well as information about our upcoming PTA Movie Night and how your student can cast their vote on which movie they prefer to see!

Wishing you all a joyous weekend!  We are looking forward to seeing you on Monday, Mustangs!

All the best,

Mrs. Watson and Mrs. O'Bryant

Please contact us with any questions!

🗓️Attendance Matters   🙋Attend Today, Achieve Tomorrow!

Did You Know?

  • Starting in preschool and kindergarten, too many absences can cause children to fall behind in school.
  • Missing 10%, or about 2 days each month over the course of a school year, can make it harder to learn to read.
  • Students can still fall behind if they miss just one or two days every few weeks.
  • Being late to school may lead to poor attendance.
  • Absences and tardiness can affect the whole classroom if the teacher has to slow down learning to help children catch up.

Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school—and themselves. Start building this habit in preschool so they learn right away that going to school on time, every day is important. Eventually good attendance will be a skill that will help them succeed in high school, college, and beyond.

Please visit https://www.fcps.edu/attendance for more information about the importance of student attendance.

📚 Lexia Parent Night: How We Help Your Child Learn to Read

FCPS funds the use of Lexia for all elementary and middle schools to use as part of their literacy instruction. Lexia is a computer-based program that supplements classroom instruction to help students develop literacy skills. It also provides teachers with data to identify students who need additional support, and the ability to know which specific concepts and skills to prioritize.Attend an information night on Monday, February 12, at 6:30 p.m., at Thoreau Middle School. Parents/caregivers will learn more about Lexia, and how FCPS is integrating it into the classroom and supporting student growth in reading. Attendees will also get tips for supporting their students at home.

Register to attend or submit a question in advance. Unable to attend in person? Join on Zoom

Integrating Lexia into the literacy curriculum aligns with the Virginia Literacy Act, FCPS’ Equitable Access to Literacy, and FCPS Strategic Plan Goal 3, which aims to have all students reading on level by the end of third grade.

Virginia Kindness Week

Virginia Kindness Week is February 12-February 16.  This is a special week that recognizes the simple day-to-day acts of kindness that enable our schools, communities, and state to be a kinder, safer, healthier and more inclusive place to live, work, learn and play. National School Counseling Week

This past week was National School Counseling Week.  This is a week that highlights the tremendous impact school counselors have in helping students achieve academic success and planning for a career. School counselors work with students in a variety of different capacities, whether it is through classroom lessons, group sessions, or individual counseling. Learn more about the role of school counselors in FCPS.

Our AMAZING school counselors at McNair are Donna Ford and Kristin Coe.  Their impact on our school community is immeasurable, and we want to express our deepest gratitude for their incredible dedication to the well-being and success of all of our students.

In the case you didn't get a chance to last week, please ensure to take a moment to share your appreciation with them by having your child write them a letter or draw them a picture.  Your kind words and encouragement will undoubtedly mean a lot!!

The Mustang Weekly Newsletter

Greetings McNair Students and Families,

We had a strong kickoff to the third quarter this week! Together we learned, we shared laughter, we continued to set classroom expectations, as well as foster our warm and caring culture.  Our teachers this week also reflected on our School Innovation Improvement Plan (SIIP) data to ensure we are on the right track supporting each and every student by name and by need.

In addition, we appreciate all of our parents/guardians who were able to join us at our McNair Family Coffee with the principals, counselors, social worker, and attendance officer.  Together we discussed the critical importance of regular attendance. In addition, our Family Literacy Night was a great success!! We hope you enjoyed learning more about the Science of Reading and gained valuable strategies to support literacy at home. At our event, we had two very special guests present.  School Board Member, Melanie Meren visited us along with our mascot, McStang the Mustang!

Next Thursday, February 8th, our Mustangs are looking forward to celebrating the 100th day of school together! Lookout for more details from your child's teacher about the learning opportunities that they will get to participate in on this very special day.

We appreciate your active partnership and support.  Together, we are creating a positive and enriching learning environment for our Mustangs.  As always, if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out. Wishing you all a joyous weekend! We look forward to seeing you on Monday, Mustangs!

All the best,

Mrs. Watson and Mrs. O'Bryant

During the school year...

School Counseling Week

February 5-9 is National School Counseling Week, and highlights the tremendous impact school counselors have in helping students achieve academic success and planning for a career.School counselors work with students in a variety of different capacities, whether it is through classroom lessons, group sessions, or individual counseling.

Please take a moment to share your appreciation with them next week by having your child write them a letter or draw them a picture.  Your kind words and encouragement will undoubtedly mean a lot!!

🚍 Here Comes the Bus

Want to know if your child's bus is on schedule or where the bus is? Here Comes the Bus® is an easy-to-use website and app that enables parents to see the location of their child’s school bus — almost in real time — on a smartphone, tablet, or personal computer.

Parents can track multiple buses if their children don’t all ride the same bus; know exactly when children arrive at school or the bus stop; and receive customized text and/or email notifications about bus locations, schedule changes, or delays.

To get started, download the app from the Apple iOS or Android app store. Check out the Here Comes the Bus and Frequently Asked Questions webpages for more information.

Already using the Here Comes the Bus app? Send your feedback to [email protected].

Note: eNotify text messaging will continue to be used for reporting bus delays and bus incidents.
